Hornbach launch in Romania

Hornbach is opening its first Romanian DIY and garden superstore, an outlet covering in excess of 24 000 m² (and boasting a weighted total retail area of more than 15 600 m²) in Bucharest. The DIY store extends over 9 000 m² and the garden store is 5 000 m² in size. There is also a drive-in building materials centre of just under 10 000 m². Hornbach has invested around € 25 mio in this first location in Romania. A second store in Bucharest is expected to follow in about one year's time. Hornbach intends to have a portfolio of ten DIY and garden stores in major cities by 2015 and is planning to invest € 200 mio to achieve this objective.
