According to a statement from Hornbach Baumarkt AG, the company is the first retailer in Germany and the sole internationally active DIY retailer in Europe to have been awarded the FSC certificate for retail chains by an accredited certification body. Through this certification Hornbach guarantees its customers transparency throughout the entire supply and retail chain. At present Hornbach stocks around 800 certified wood products in its range. The company has been actively involved in the WWF Wood Group since 2003 as one of the founding members.
