Tesco bids for Dobbies

The UK supermarket giant is offering £ 155.6 mio (€ 230.06 mio) for Dobbies, the Scottish garden centre chain. Its board is urging the shareholders to accept Tesco's offer of £ 15 per share. According to a statement from Dobbies, the purchase of 22.6 per cent of the company has already been agreed. Dobbies achieved sales of £ 68.8 mio in 2006 with 20 outlets.
