Especially curtain walling was able to notch up growth last year

Last year the market for facades managed growth of 3.7 per cent in terms of surface area in the top five countries of Europe (Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom). According to Interconnection Consulting, a market research institute based in Vienna, the engine driving this growth once more was curtain walling, which grew by 6.3 per cent. Conventional facades, on the other hand, had to settle for more modest growth. A total area of 629 mio m² was constructed last year in the above-mentioned countries, with conventional facades accounting for 73.4 per cent of this figure.
