The four largest Canadian DIY retail groups again grew their market share in 2006

The four major Canadian DIY retail groups, Home Depot, Rona, Home Hardware and Canadian Tire, grew their market share in 2006 from 51.4 per cent to 52.6 per cent, according to an article in the latest issue of the Canadian news service, Hardlines Quarterly Report. The four companies together achieved sales of CAN $ 20.46 bn. Taking Hardline's figure of CAN $ 38.88 bn for the total market, Home Depot accounted for a share of 15.2 per cent, followed by Rona at 14.8 per cent, Home Hardware with 11.8 per cent and Canadian Tire with 10.8 per cent.
