The DIY stores of the French Mr. Bricolage Group recorded sales of € 413.8 mio in the first quarter of 2007, which amounts to growth of 9.4 per cent compared to the same period last year. The group has announced a 9.9 per cent increase to € 385.4 mio for the Mr. Bricolage trading format, and a 2.8 per cent rise to € 28.3 mio for Catena. At the end of the first quarter Mr. Bricolage had a total of 414 stores following two new openings (+12 900 m²) and five extensions (+12 427 m²). The total number of Catena stores was down to 122 after three closures, and retail area suffered a three per cent reduction to 102 000 m².
