Home Depot to discontinue the advertising business on its website

Home Depot is going to put an end to the sale of advertising on its internet site from April, according to a report from internetretailer.com. It was in July 2006 that Home Depot began to sell advertising space on its website to manufacturers, who were then able to promote their products there and also present further information on the subject, e.g. how to assemble them. Home Depot's goal was to enhance the appeal of its website and extend the length of time spent there by browsers, while also generating advertising sales. However, Home Depot now intends its website to concentrate in future on offering help to online and store customers in making their purchases.
