The Austrian Baumax Group was able to increase gross sales by 6 per cent to € 1.16 bn in 2006. Sales in Austria were 4.5 per cent up to a total of € 575 mio. Sales figures saw widely varying development in the other countries. The company succeeded in achieving a sales increase of 30 per cent in Slovakia, though managed only the previous year's level in Slovenia and Croatia, on the other hand. The international share of sales amounted to 51 per cent. The greatest share was achieved by Czechia at 18 per cent, followed by Hungary (11 per cent), Slovakia (10 per cent), Romania (5 per cent), Croatia (4 per cent) and Slovenia (3 per cent). The group's combined sales area was extended by 3.1 per cent to 766 000 m².
For 2007 the Baumax group is planning to increase sales by 8 per cent to € 1.25 bn (gross). It is intended to increase the total number of outlets from 124 to 135.
