Zeus announces sales increase

16.01.2007

Sales growth of 3.1 per cent in 2006 compared with the previous year; expectation of similar performance in 2007

According to company estimates, the total of about 650 stores grouped together within the Zeus system (Hagebaumarkt DIY stores, Werkmarkt specialist retailers and Floraland garden centres) increased their sales revenue by 3.1 per cent to € 2.2 bn in 2006. Michael Baumgardt, management spokesman at Zeus, attributes this development both to the recovery of the market and to the services provided for members by head office. Even the garden sector (230 Hagebaumarkt garden centres) has managed to increase sales revenue by 5.5 per cent.
A press release issued by the company reports that the Soltau-based head office expects growth in 2007 "that ties in with the previous year's trend". Additional surges of activity are expected from the integration of the Austrian Hagebaumarkt stores into Zeus, and from increased efforts in the field of acquisitions.
