Goods from China

This year imports from China to Germany have increased by nearly 20 per cent in comparison with the months from January to September 2005

The Federal Bureau of Statistics reports that goods to the value of € 34.4 bn were exported to Germany from the People's Republic of China in the first nine months of 2006. This amounts to an increase of 19.7 per cent compared with the months of January to September 2005. The level of German exports to China during this same period, which amounted to € 19.4 bn, was considerably below the figure for imports. China ranks number four as a trading partner on the import side after France, the Netherlands and the USA.
