Market entry in Romania

Baumax opened its first two DIY stores in Romania at the beginning of November. Two stores, each 10 000 m² in size and following the Four Worlds concept – building, living, tools and garden – have been set up in Brasov and Sibiu. The concept had to be somewhat adapted to the conditions in Romania, with special attention given to the low purchasing power prevalent there. The focus of the product offer is on the area of building. The plan for further expansion foresees the opening of five more stores each year.
