The sixth store has been inaugurated in St. Petersburg

Rautakesko of Finland opened the group's sixth K-Rauta store in St. Petersburg on 16 September. The five Stroymaster stores, which Rautakesko acquired last year, have been operating under the K-Rauta logo since August. The new store is the first Russian outlet in which the international K-Rauta concept has been implemented. At the same time it is also the largest K-Rauta store anywhere, boasting a total area in excess of 10 000 m².
The strategy of expansion in Russia is to continue: the schedule foresees the opening of one more K-Rauta in St. Petersburg in December, to be followed by two further outlets in 2007. Rautakesko intends to expand its marketing network in St. Petersburg to between ten and twelve stores, and has plans for between eight and ten outlets in and around Moscow. The trading concept is to be put into practice in other major cities as well.
