Gains for Zeus on the green side

For the months from January to July Zeus announces a sales increase of 3 per cent over the same period last year for the garden sector. There was growth of 3.5 per cent in the garden furniture segment, and of 5.3 per cent in the garden leisure category. The turnover for the wood in the garden category rose by 5.9 per cent. The rates of increase for animal and pet supplies at 13.5 per cent above the same period last year, and for garden watering products at plus 16.2 per cent, were in double figures. The category of plants notched up sales growth of one per cent. Thomas Krämer, divisional manager for garden centre sales and marketing, gives a positive assessment of the continuing sales trend for the current year. Zeus currently services more than 300 garden centres.
