Koelnmesse announces increased attendance figures

According to information from the organisers Koelnmesse, almost 50 000 trade visitors from 103 countries came to Cologne for this year's Spoga+Gafa, which ended its three-day run yesterday. This is around 2 000 more than registered at the dual fair in 2004. The proportion of international trade visitors amounted to 55 per cent this year, and 77 per cent on the exhibitor side. A total of 2 456 companies from 64 countries filled the new exhibition site with its gross exhibition space of 284 000 m² and an additional 80 000 m² out-of-doors. The majority of the suppliers proved to be satisfied with the way the fair went. The big equipment manufacturers in particular were very pleased with the positive response, which can no doubt be attributed to the new two-yearly cycle adopted by Gafa.
