Haemmerlin makes acquisition

Haemmerlin Ltd (UK), the British branch of the company based in Alsace, has purchased Chillington Manufacturing. According to Haemmerlin, Chillington is the UK's biggest manufacturer of wheelbarrows and was formerly a subsidiary of P&G Industries, part of the PGI Group. The Chillington works in Walsall, which currently employs a workforce of over 50, achieves sales of € 7 mio. This purchase not only brings Haemmerlin a manufacturing base in one of its major European sales markets but the promise of synergies between the two companies' products. The two-brands-from-one-hand strategy is designed to reinforce the position of the trading partners vis-à-vis the consumer.
