Quarterly figures from Praktiker

Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte Holding AG has completed the second quarter of 2006 with sales growth of 3.9 per cent to € 1.61 bn. Consolidated sales recorded an increase of 7.5 per cent to € 888.3 mio. EBITA (Earnings Before Interest, Tax and Appreciation) have grown by 17.6 per cent to € 62.4 mio. Sales in Germany rose by 5.8 per cent, and EBITA was also increased by 8.3 per cent to € 45.8 mio. Outside Germany Praktiker achieved a turnover in the second quarter that was 12.3 per cent higher than in the same period last year (4.5 per cent like-for-like). EBITA in the group's international stores saw growth of 54.6 per cent to € 16.6 mio. Altogether the report reveals EBITA to the tune of € 46.4 mio for the first six months (+3.9 per cent).
