After 14 years as a member of the executive board of the parent company and four years on the supervisory board, Albert Hornbach is retiring to private life at the age of 71. Similarly, he also retired from the supervisory board of Hornbach Baumarkt AG during the company's AGM on Thursday. Two of his sons will succeed as board members: Christoph Hornbach is taking over his function at Hornbach Holding AG, while Martin Hornbach will exercise the same office at Hornbach Baumarkt AG. The latter was a member of the executive board of this company from 1998 until his departure from the organisation in 2001.
There were changes among the other positions on the supervisory board as well. Gerry Murphy, group chief executive of Kingfisher, and George Adams, chief executive UK trade of Kingfisher plc, are new members of the board of Hornbach Holding AG. This results from the departure of Sir Francis Mackay, chairman of Kingfisher plc, and Ian Cheshire, chief executive officer of B&Q.
