Hagebau sees an increase of more than seven per cent

Group sales increased to € 1.446 bn from January to May

Hagebau expects a sales increase of more than seven per cent for the first six months of 2006. As announced at the cooperative's meeting of members in Hanover, group sales rose by 7.6 per cent to € 1.446 bn in the first five months. Revenue including financial investments rose by as much as 7.9 per cent to € 1.304 bn in Germany. The expectation is for sales growth of at least three per cent for the full 2006 year.
The Hagebaumarkt stores increased their sales revenue between January and May by 0.2 per cent over the same period last year. The building materials business showed a very much higher rate of growth at 14.0 per cent, as did the timber business as well, achieving an increase of 16.1 per cent. According to information from the company, the increase in members also contributed to the positive sales trend. The number of outlets has increased to 935 (plus 47) in Germany and to 176 (plus 19) in Austria and Hungary.
