The latest survey by the European Parquet Federation (FEP) reveals that parquet is still a popular type of flooring in Europe. Provisional figures show that production and sales rose considerably by comparison with 2004. Production in the traditional FEP countries rose by 6.2 per cent to 79.2 mio m². The combined production in all countries saw an increase of 4.9 per cent to 96 mio m². The decisive factor behind this positive result was increased production in Austria, Germany and the Nordic countries, according to a press announcement from the Federation. However, sales in 2005 failed to show the same dynamism, recording growth of just 3.4 per cent.
