Husqvarna announces further growth through acquisitions

Husqvarna, the Swedish manufacturer of garden equipment, is now quoted on the Stockholm stock exchange. Until recently the company belonged to the home appliances manufacturer Electrolux, which wanted to hive off its garden tools division and so decided at the beginning of the year to float Husqvarna on the stock exchange. In an interview with the Handelsblatt newspaper, board chairman Bengt Andersson announced further growth through acquisitions. The paper reports that he refused to comment on the possibility of showing an interest in Gardena. Husqvarna is regarded as the world's biggest manufacturer of chain saws, lawn mowers and other motorised garden equipment. The company recorded a turnover of SKr 28.8 bn (€ 3.1 bn) last year.
