The market researchers at Observateur Cetelem ascertained growth for 2005 in each of the eleven countries investigated, above all in Spain (+12.4 per cent) and Hungary (+7.4 per cent). The Germans were again the most free-spending in 2005, with an average household spend of € 944. In terms of spending intentions for 2006, the British headed the field once more at 39 per cent, followed by Germany (37 per cent). Spain and Portugal brought up the rear with 17 per cent each.
