More than 150 Czech and international companies are looking for around 500 new commercial sites

More than 150 companies, both Czech and international, are bent on further expansion and so are looking for around 500 new commercial sites. They are seeking the majority of these in city centres, and one-third in shopping malls. These facts are taken from the current study, "Who is expanding in Czechia – 2006", compiled by Regioplan. Third place in the locational ranking goes to edge-of-town sites at 19 per cent. Companies such as DIY stores and discounters, which require a great deal of space, prefer to locate on the edge of towns because there is more room for them there. According to the study, the proportion of DIY stores and builders' merchants scheduled by the expansionary companies amounts to 6.2 per cent.
