Gardena is pushing ahead with expansion. It is planned to extend a special sales campaign that has already started in Germany to other countries as well

Gardena intends to continue to push ahead with expansion abroad. It is hoped to expand the international share of sales from the current 67 per cent to around 80 per cent, in the words of chairman Martin Bertinchamp. The company's plans include branches in Ukraine, probably in 2008, and for Bulgaria and Romania in 2007 or 2008.
A special sales campaign has just taken off in Germany. It involves Gardena sending more than 460 specially trained sales consultants to a total of 930 DIY stores and garden centres from Thursdays to Mondays until the end of June. The company expects to gain increased sales and an improved image from the campaign, which is designed not least to benefit the retailers as well. The sales campaign is also planned for other European countries. France could be first on the list.
