Daniel Bernard at Kingfisher

Kingfisher has named Daniel Bernard as non-executive director and deputy chairman. He will take up his role following the AGM on 24 May, sharing the position of deputy chairman with John Nelson until May 2007, when the latter will step down. From 1995 to 2005 Daniel Bernard was chairman and chief executive officer of Carrefour, the world's second largest retail group, and prior to that he was chief operating officer at Metro, Germany's biggest international retailer.
