Subsidiary in Slovenia

Gardena has founded a subsidiary company in Slovenia. Matjaž Fužir, 45, is managing director of the new company. He and his brother Jure Fužir, with their company, Silk, have had the sole agency for the Ulm-based garden specialist in the former Yugoslav region since 1991. Gardena considers Slovenia to be a growing market, with a population of two million, around 400 000 garden households and per capita GDP of approx. € 9 500. Regional director Tobias M. Koerner also sees Slovenia as a springboard to the other states of the former Yugoslavia.
