The French DIY retailer recorded 1.94 per cent more sales in 2005 than the previous year

The French Bricorama group recorded sales of € 624.06 mio in the 2005 financial year, 1.94 per cent up on the previous year. A volume of € 440.72 mio was achieved in France, which amounts to like-for-like growth of 0.74 per cent. After making a good start in the first quarter (+2.99 per cent), sales were noticeably down in mid-year (-0.40 per cent), but then recovered again in the fourth quarter (1.18 per cent).
In the Benelux countries, where the group is an Intergamma franchisee, sales in 2005 rose by 3.96 per cent to € 179.904 mio. After a difficult first quarter (-0.23 per cent), the sales trend improved during the course of the year (+2.59 per cent in the second, +3.90 per cent in the third and +5.69 per cent in the fourth quarter). The first outlet in Spain recorded a sales figure of € 4.30 mio.
