According to a survey carried out by the market research company Forsa on behalf of Metabo, power tools are not products that are bought exclusively by price. On the contrary, quality criteria and confidence in the brand play a major role in such purchases. Sixty-eight per cent of respondents overall denied that they were guided purely by price. The question of where Germans prefer to buy their power tools resulted in the DIY stores landing undisputed on the top spot at 55 per cent, clearly ahead of the specialist retail trade at 30 per cent. According to the Forsa study, only three per cent prefer to shop at discount stores.
