Large-format stores in Canada

At the end of 2005 there will be 212 large-format or “big box” stores in Canada: 137 belonging to Home Depot, 68 to Rona and 7 to Kent Superstores, according to the Canadian industry service Hardlines. Home Depot plans to open 20 stores in 2006 and Rona intends to open 10 to 15 big boxes. The figures derive from the “Big Box Report”, which appears in the latest issue of Hardlines Quarterly.
