The number two DIY retailer increased its profit by 25.8 per cent in the third quarter

For the third quarter Lowe's has announced a 25.8 per cent increase in profit to US $ 649 mio (€ 554 mio) over the same period last year. Profit growth for the first nine months came to 24.5 per cent, or US $ 2.08 bn (€ 1.77 bn).
Sales rose by 16.9 per cent in the third quarter to US $ 10.6 bn (€ 9.0 bn), or 6.2 per cent like-for-like. A sales increase of 16.2 per cent to US $ 32.4 bn (€ 27.6 bn) was recorded during the nine months to the end of October. At the end of the third quarter, and after 33 new openings and one closure, Lowe's operated a network of 1 170 DIY stores with a combined retail area of 12.4 mio m².
