14.11.2005

The company improves results over the previous year, both in the third quarter and for the nine-month period

Baywa, the Munich-based retail and service group, recorded sales up by 7.2 per cent over last year's figure to € 1.7 bn in the third quarter, and the profit from ordinary activities up by € 8.4 mio to € 13.5 mio.
Sales in the first nine months increased by around 6 per cent to € 4.8 bn by comparison with last year. The group achieved sales revenues of around € 1.2 bn in the building segment during this period, which means it has managed to recoup all but 3 per cent of the considerable spring arrears. The slight increase in DIY and garden store sales to € 301 mio is the result of having consolidated a company in Austria. At the end of nine months and with profit from ordinary activities at € 6 mio, the building segment still lags € 1.9 mio behind.
