Two German DIY retailers, Max Bahr and Hellweg, have set up a buying company known as DIYCO. As both companies explained in a press release, large volumes more than ever play the main role in achieving the best possible purchasing price. That is true both for domestic transactions and for the worldwide production of exclusive products as private labels. Both partners expect to considerably strengthen their negotiating positions by means of joint procurement and the bundling of purchasing volumes. The buying company has been set up in such a way that it will remain open to further partners. Its managing directors are Thomas Heinitz and Frank Jahn, both buying directors of their respective companies.
