Information from Promojardin reveals that the French garden market is reporting sales growth of 4.6 per cent to € 5.911 bn for 2004. This indicates a revival of the market following the period of stagnation in 2003 (+0.3 per cent). In terms of the different channels of distribution, this business developed best in the DIY stores, which achieved a sales increase of 8.8 per cent, followed by the agricultural self-service outlets at 7 per cent, then the supermarkets and hypermarkets at 4 per cent.
