Market sales of lawnmowers in Europe saw an increase of 1.2 per cent to 3.63 mio units last year. By contrast, net sales went down by 1.7 per cent to € 695.6 mio over the same period, according to a survey undertaken by management consultancy Interconnection of Vienna. Electric mowers, including cordless models, accounted for a volume share of 39.1 per cent in Germany, with petrol mowers taking a share of 56.0 per cent. The remaining five per cent is represented by tractor mowers.
