David Wild is the new boss of Wal-Mart Germany following the resignation of Kay Hafner

There is a change at the top of Wal-Mart Germany: the existing head of buying, David Wild, 50, is to become the company's new president and managing director. He is British, and is succeeding Dr Kay Hafner, who is reported by the company to be resigning at his own request after four years in order to take up new commitments. Wild has since May 2004 had responsibility for the buying function at Wal-Mart Germany as chief merchandise officer. Previous to that he spent 18 years working for the UK retailer Tesco.
