Around 27 stores are to be inaugurated in the second half of the current financial year
Kingfisher has plans for the opening of around 27 new stores worldwide in the second half of the current financial year. The company has established a trade division in the United Kingdom, where the intention is to set up two outlets initially that are based on the Brico Dépôt model.
Castorama will open two replacement outlets in France, and two new openings are scheduled for Brico Dépôt. One Castorama will be opened in Poland and three in Italy. The intention is to break into the Russian market in early 2006. Two new openings are on the agenda for Spain, and three mini Warehouses should open in Ireland at the end of the year. The number of B&Q stores in China is expected to rise from the current total of 38 to approximately 50, and one new store is planned for Taiwan.
