Kölnmesse reports “excellent” response to first Spoga show without Gafa, but some exhibitors miss visitors to Gafa
Kölnmesse described as “excellent” the response to Spoga, which was staged for the first time without Gafa and came to an end on 6 September. According to one press release, 1 530 companies from 61 countries exhibited in Cologne, 80 per cent of them from abroad. The gross exhibition hall area was 163 000 m2. Including estimates for the last day of the show, more than 24 000 visitors from 92 countries attended. Foreign visitors accounted for 58 per cent of the total.
Even if the verdicts were mostly positive, there were complaints from some stands that the absence of Gafa was noticeable in the visitor figures. Some Spoga exhibitors are thinking about only exhibiting in Gafa years in future. Around 48 000 visitors were counted at last year’s joint Gafa/Spoga fair.
