The market for garden tools in Germany has rallied again slightly. Powered tools in particular have benefited from an increase in demand, according to a report from GfK. Sales in this segment saw an increase of nine per cent in the months between February and May 2005 compared with the same period last year. Hand gardening tools, which showed severe losses in February and March, recorded an increase of three per cent in April and May. The DIY stores have maintained their supremacy among the different channels of distribution, achieving a market share of 45 per cent.
