Sears Essentials launched

Sears Essentials is a new store format of Sears Holding, the company created by a merger of Kmart and Sears. The first store will open on 18 June in Palatine, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The store’s sales area of 9 300 m2 includes 800 m2 devoted to the DIY range and a 280 m2 garden department. Sears is aiming to convert up to 900 Kmart outlets to the new Sears Essentials format in the next four years.
