Kingfisher has opened its first B&Q Home store in Seoul. It is located on a site in Guro, which it shares with Lotte, a leading hypermarket retailer. The 7 250 m² DIY store will offer 35 000 products, as well as classes for DIY beginners and a design and installation service. There are plans to open two or three further B&Q Home stores by the end of 2006, and B&Q intends to achieve nationwide coverage over the coming years. Kingfisher values the South Korean DIY market at £ 5 bn (€ 7.5 bn), making it the third largest in Asia after Japan and China.
