Tesco boosts DIY range

The UK food retailer is in future to push more strongly into home improvement

The UK supermarket operator Tesco has announced that it intends to concentrate more on the DIY segment and expand its non-food range by the addition of paint and tools, which will be offered under the group's own label. In the 2004 financial year Tesco achieved gross sales of £ 37.1 bn (€ 53.9 bn) with a total of 586 stores in eleven countries.
