The kitchen furniture market in Britain has experienced steady growth since 2000. Growth of 2.2 per cent in 2004 for a total value of £ 1.142 bn (€ 1.689 bn) was somewhat weaker than in the preceding years, according to a report from the UK company AMA Research. The market researchers expect growth of around 7 per cent to £ 1.218 bn (€ 1.801 bn) by 2008. Replacement purchases accounted for approx. 60 per cent of the overall market in 2004. Sales in the UK kitchen furniture market are dominated by the flat-pack sector, which accounts for a share of over 70 per cent.
