Jump in Hornbach earnings

Results for the Hornbach group of companies show sales growth of 8 per cent to € 2.22 bn for Hornbach Holding AG in the 2004/2005 financial year (to 28 February 2005). The group's pre-tax earnings rose by 37 per cent to approximately € 62 mio. Pre-tax earnings in the Hornbach Baumarkt AG sub-group experienced a rise of 55 per cent to € 68 mio, whereas sales went up by 9 per cent (1.5 per cent like-for-like) to € 2.09 bn. Same-store sales outside Germany increased by 4.4 per cent during the financial year. International sales account for a 33 per cent share of Hornbach Baumarkt AG's overall sales.
