Sales well up

According to information released by Metro, Praktiker increased its sales by € 142 mio last year to € 2.953 bn. This equates to an increase of five per cent at constant exchange rates and of 3.4 per cent on a like-for-like basis. Metro Group sales as a whole were up by 5.3 per cent to € 56.41 bn in 2004, with the proportion resulting from its operations abroad accounting for 49 per cent compared with 47.2 per cent the previous year. Praktiker’s EBITA improved in 2004 by 150 per cent to € 59 mio.
