Kingfisher, Europe's leading DIY retailer, recorded sales of £ 7.56 bn (€ 11.27 bn) in the 2004/05 financial year (to 29 January). This translates into a sales increase of 8.7 per cent, and 9.9 per cent in constant currency. Like-for-like growth comes to 3.9 per cent. Total sales in the United Kingdom and Ireland saw growth of 4.8 per cent to £ 4.316 bn (€ 6.362 bn), or 1.5 per cent in like-for-like terms. In France Kingfisher increased sales by 9.4 per cent (12 per cent in constant currency) to £ 2.547 bn (€ 3.754 bn), or 7.7 per cent like-for-like. Sales in the other countries where the group is active (Poland, Italy, China and Spain) were up by 32.6 per cent (38.6 per cent in constant currency) to £ 786.6 mio (€ 1.159 bn), and by 6.5 per cent like-for-like.
