In 2004 the French DIY group Mr. Bricolage increased gross year-on-year sales by 5.3 per cent to € 1.716 bn. The Mr. Bricolage retail format achieved gross sales of € 1 570.4 bn, an increase of 5.7 per cent, whereas the Catena stores recorded sales up by only 0.2 per cent for a total of € 146.6 mio. At year's end the group had 425 Mr. Bricolage stores with a combined retail area of 1 008 000 m² and 146 Catena outlets with 108 000 m² altogether.
