The 35th Heimtextil, the trade fair for home and commercially used textiles, came to the end of its four-day run on 15 January with a considerable rise in visitor numbers from abroad. The number of international visitors went up to approx. 52 000, or 3.8 per cent more than last year. The three biggest visitor nations were Italy, followed by the US and the UK. A total of 2 960 companies from 71 countries displayed their products there, 548 of them from Germany. Fair director Detlef Braun stressed the fact that “more optimism is again evident in the industry”. According to a survey carried out by the organisers, trade visitors are assessing the business situation much more positively than last year.
