Positive outlook

After five days in business Swissbau, the Swiss building industry fair, came to an end in Basel on 29 January. Almost 110 000 trade visitors, 10 000 of them from abroad (19 countries), came to gain information about the products and services displayed by around 1 400 exhibitors. According to the organisers, the majority of these exhibitors assessed the whole fair as “very good”, whilst also appraising the industry’s economic prospects in a positive light. This despite the fact that the forecasts made by the economic research bodies for the individual segments of the Swiss building and construction industry appear to differ from each other.
