Above-target increase for Hagebau

02.02.2005

The cooperative group has seen an 8.6 per cent increase in sales

The year 2004 has ended for the cooperative group with an increase that is well above target. Centrally invoiced sales amounted to € 3.365 bn, or 8.6 per cent higher than the previous year’s figure. Germany accounts for € 3.009 bn of the total; sales rose by 7.6 per cent here. Sales in the retail sector were up by 0.9 per cent to € 1.45 bn. However, this represents a loss of 0.1 per cent in like-for-like terms. At 18.1 per cent, Hagebau Austria’s high profit on sales is largely down to changes within the membership. Volume sales amounted to € 357 mio. Whereas the builders’ merchant business was down by 3.6 per cent, the retail sector increased by 90.6 per cent. The number of Hagebau outlets dropped to 899 last year, which means it is at the lowest level since 1997.
