Lowe’s increased sales and profit by more than 17 per cent in the second quarter

In the second quarter of 2004 Lowe’s recorded sales of US $ 10.2 bn (€ 8.25 bn), or 17.3 per cent more than in the same period last year. The like-for-like increase came to 5.1 per cent. Sales rose by 19.4 per cent in the first half-year to US $ 18.9 bn (€ 15.28 bn), or 7.2 per cent in like-for-like terms. Lowe’s opened 20 stores, including three relocations, during the second quarter. Net profit in the second quarter rose by 17.9 per cent over the same period last year to US $ 704 mio (€ 569 mio), and the company reveals a 14 per cent profit increase to US $ 1.16 bn (€ 938 mio) for the entire half-year period.
