New ICI chief executive

Dr Brendan O’Neil has resigned as chief executive of the British ICI group. He is succeeded with immediate effect by Dr John McAdam, 54, who has been chief executive of ICI Paints since 1998. He has also been a director with a seat on the board of ICI since 1999.
